Samuel Smith’s Organic Fruit Beers - coming soonPosted by: Jonny Fullpint · March 5th, 2009
Merchant du Vin and Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery are excited to announce the introduction of a new line: Samuel Smith’s Organic Fruit Beers - Cherry, Raspberry, and Strawberry. These innovative, handcrafted USDA Certified Organic beers will be available nationally in April, just in time for summer.
Samuel Smith’s Organic Fruit Beers are handcrafted at Melbourn Bros. Brewery, the tiny, historic brewery lovingly restored by Samuel Smith’s in the 1990s. There the ales gain deep character from brewing and fermentation using the original Victorian equipment. The finest organically grown barley and wheat, as well as organic hops from England, are used to create these complex ales, which undergo primary and secondary fermentation with different yeasts. They are then carefully transported to Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery, at Tadcaster, where they are blended with pure Certified Organic fruit juice before conditioning and packaging.
Samuel Smith’s Organic Raspberry Ale has a dramatic and mouth-watering appeal from the natural acidity of organic raspberries; smooth body, finishes dry with appealing raspberry aroma. OG 1.065; ABV 5.1%; IBU 11.
Samuel Smith’s Organic Strawberry Ale is soft and subtle, with the sophisticated and elusive flavor of fresh strawberries beautifully married to clean, smooth malt. An elegant beer. OG 1.065; ABV 5.1%; IBU 14.
Samuel Smith’s Organic Fruit beers are sold in the classic, embossed 18.7 oz. “Victorian Pint” bottle, shipped in a case of 12.
Established in 1758, Samuel Smith’s Old Brewery is independent and committed to quality, using the finest ingredients available for their beer and cider. Melbourn Bros. Brewery was established in 1825 in Stamford, England - a region famous for growing high-quality fruit.
