Thanks to everyone who attended the March's Raw Food Pot Luck. It was another big hit and the food was yummy. This is monthly Raw Food Pot Luck that is held the 1st Wednesday of the month. All are welcome to attend. This is a great support group for people who want to start raw or for the seasoned veteran.
Some of the yummy included:
Kale Salad
Quinoa Salad
Jamaican Jerk Sprouted Barley Salad
Sprouted Chick Pea Hummus
Mashed "Potatoes & Gravy"
Nori Avocado Rolls
Ginger Butternut Squash
Cilantro Butternut Squash
Lime Cilantro Smoothie
Our next Raw Food Pot Luck will be April 1st 2009 at 6:30 pm.
This event is Free.
Everyone is invited, but take note, only raw foods will be on hand. There will be no traditional cooking.
What does Raw mean in this context? It means nothing is cooked at more than 115ยบ F so as not to destroy the natural enzymes and vitamins. That doesn’t mean it can’t be dried, or prepared in exciting and creative ways. There are literally thousands of raw recipes available, for everything from pates, pasta, tacos, burgers to the salads you’d expect.
So, get out a Raw Cookbook, try your hand at something new and different and come on down to Aroma Thyme Bistro on February 4th. This is a free event and all are welcome to attend from first timers to the experienced raw foodies.
Please call Marcus at 845-647-3000 for details.
